Carob

Dogs can NOT have chocolate but what they CAN have is carob. A healthier alternative to chocolate.

Chocolate is perfectly safe for humans to eat but it is dangerous for your precious pups to ingest due to the high levels of caffeine, fromamide, phenylthlamine and Theobromine. Theobromine is a chemical compound that while humans can metabolize with ease, dogs can not. Dogs slowly metabolize Theobromine, causing toxic levels of Theobromine to build up in the dog's body which can cause a number of health issues.

Carob is actually SAFE for your dogs, that's why we use it in our treats.

Extracted from a carob bean, which grows on the carob tree, a type of flowering shrub which belongs to the same family as peas. It can be grounded into a powder that can be used as is or made into carob chips. Similar to chocolate, carob still has a sweet flavor which is why pups love it!

Some of the nutrients found in carob are: Vitamins A, B, D, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Potassium, and protein. Good source of fiber. Carob also contains a natural detoxifier, Pectin, that helps flush toxins from the body.

Maxx's Munchery Oven Baked Pet Treats hand bakes treats that contain a healthy amount of carob in them. We are always looking for ways to keep our treats healthy and beneficial for your pup. Check out our treats in our shop!
